K-W OKTOBERFEST CELEBRATIONS

There’s so much to do in the K-W area during Oktoberfest!

The air is crisp and the leaves are starting to change colour which means that Oktoberfest is just around the corner!

K-W’s Oktoberfest celebrations began way back in 1969. It’s by far the largest Bavarian festival in North America attracting visitors from all over Canada and beyond!

This year, the festival has extended its run over three weekends between Friday, September 22nd and Saturday, October 14th. The official keg tapping will also take place in downtown Kitchener on Friday, October 6th.

Between Thursday, October 5th and Sunday, October 8th, Downtown Kitchener will be transformed into a bustling Bavarian village with a biergarten, authentic German cuisine, a local vendor market and a variety of live entertainment!

There’s also Kinderfest which takes place at Bingemans on Saturday, September 30th and Sunday, October 1st. This fall festival event offers fun for the whole family including carnival rides, pumpkin cookie decorating, face-painting and much more!

The various festhalle events are a big part of the Oktoberfest experience but there are also a wide variety of cultural events to enjoy throughout the city. Celebrating friends, family, community and fun is what the ultimate Wunderbar Oktoberfest experience is all about. Prost!
